Several national antiabortion groups and their allies in Republican-led state legislatures are advancing plans to stop people in states where abortion is banned from seeking the procedure elsewhere, according to people involved in the discussions.

As I’ve said before, this issue seems perfectly and legally suited to invoking the Commerce Clause to regulate it nation-wide. Congress just needs to sack up and do it, despite the re-election impact, whatever it may be. Take a chance, guys. Lead. Legislate. Make policy. Give it a go. Try it on for size.
