Here’s an article and discussion saying the abysmal jobs market for new grads is due to “AI.” I’ve seen this in other places, of course, but it’s hitting the front page on Reddit today, and I call BS. Reddit is a CCP-funded (among others) propaganda machine, running campaigns for anyone with money to spend to push a narrative. And not only do I call BS on the article, I also call BS on the top-voted comment as well. It tries to confer legitimacy to the argument (in Fortune magazine, owned by Indians) by strengthening its premise.
I don’t think any industry is using AI in its current form to replace its entry level positions (except maybe visual arts), so I don’t think AI is a significant contributor to the 25% unemployment for young people. I think it’s corporate “greed” and both legal and illegal immigration, both in the name of more profit for “shareholders,” by which they mean the 5 investment banks that control all of the Fortune 1000. Corporations are employing a public relations media blitz to shift the blame to AI, and using both Fortune magazine and Reddit to do some of the work.
