GenCon 43 Pics
One of my best friends, Dan, and I went to GenCon 43 (2010).
My main point of going was to see the trade floor. It was my hope that I would run across something that would capture my imagination the way that Dungeons & Dragons once did. Dan’s main point in going was to gawk at the people in costume. Turns out that this was the better motivation to go. There were lots of people dressed-up, and most of them were really well done. Unfortunately, Dan forgot to charge his camera the day before. So we had to use of iPhone not long after we got started. I wouldn’t have wanted to take pictures of this sort of thing with a cell-phone camera, but this was all we had.
- I like this one, because it’s just a lone Stormtrooper, you know, crossing the street.
- I think they were trying too hard. I’d complain about them not being in-genre, but there was a ton of that anyway.
- I took this one. It’s not every day you get to see a Maserati.
- Long story, but she had the gall to be galled that I noticed something stuck in her cleavage.
- I grabbed the phone back for this one. Turns out she won Best In Show.
- It was eerily quiet in this room.
- I didn’t want to wait in line, and I didn’t know what I’d say if I did
- I overheard someone behind me say how this was an impressive feat of physics
- Queing for the costume parade
